How long has NIS been in business?
Nuclear Imaging Services began seven years ago as a local business, and grew to be formed as a corporation in early 2001. The managing partners of NIS each have over 12 years of experience working in nuclear medicine (all certified in nuc med) meanwhile having a great deal of experience in sales for nuclear cardiology equipment for such giants as ADAC, Philips, and IS2. NIS was created to be a service oriented business with unmatched service and attention.

How can NIS save me money on different isotopes brands, even if I already receive volume discounts?
NIS offers discounts on isotopes on all brands from the major providers. Volume discounts for practitioners, however, usually means discounts per dose based on a minimum order. This differs from the volume discounts on isotopes for distributors coming directly from the pharmaceutical manufacturer. As a distributor our volume discounts equate to a lower cost per dose that still beats the cost per dose you get from the local reps (even if it's the exact same brand and service!) The best advice is to call NIS direct with your current price per dose, and request a competitive quote, and we will try to beat it. For more information on isotopes, click here.

Will my service or quality change if I switch to NIS for doses?
No. Your existing service, brands and volumes will remain the same and you will schedule your orders for quantities just as you do now. The only difference will be a lower bill, and your invoice will come from NIS.

Is using a mobile unit cheaper/ safer than buying or leasing equipment of my own?
Mobile services are a great concept. Generally the mobile service offers an all-in-one package, which supplies the doses, camera, and tech at a premium price. This means that at a flat rate the cost is actually higher than buying a camera. To read the weighted pros and cons of mobility vs. ownership, click here.

What if I already have an existing service contract with my equipment, but I want a better price and better service?
For those with existing contracts or leases who want to upgrade, or consider lighter options for sales and service prices, a buyout or payoff might be the option of choice. NIS can renew your service contract directly when it expires at a better price, or help you with financial options to get new equipment that may excuse older agreements.

Do NIS field service techs know how to service my older equipment?
Yes. Nuclear Imaging Services prides itself on outstanding field service. Our field service engineers are qualified for repairing and refurbishing all types and models of equipment. To see what our current customers think, click here.

What if I am out of town, can NIS service my camera?
Yes. Regardless of location, NIS will ensure that your service agreement meets optimum requirements. NIS has field service techs in remote areas to help you with repair, upgrades, PM's and more. Our service agreements offer 95-98% uptime for any equipment, anywhere.

If I use NIS staffing services, will the tech know how to use my model of camera?
Yes. NIS nuclear medicine technologists are all certified in nuclear medicine and all are trained to use all different types of equipment. We provide specialty training for all of our staffed nuclear techs. What's more is that techs supplied by NIS also have the NIS tech support as well. Whether you have ADAC/ Philips, Siemens, GE, IS2 or another system, NIS is ready to service your system.

Are all gamma cameras the same? How do I know what I'm getting?
No. In nuclear cardiology there are a variety of makes and models of equipment that do different things for diagnostic service. NIS has literature on all different types of equipment to help when making department decisions. NIS also offers site visits to allow techs and doctors to witness and demonstrate the equipment while asking questions about reading scans, patient volume, maintenance and more. To visit our camera section and view different models, click here.

How do I coordinate a nuclear medicine department if I am short staffed?
Simple. Call NIS today with your situation and let us know when you need services or staffing and we will walk you through. For staffing, we need to know the dates and hours for nuclear scans, and our tech will be there for you. If setup services are needed, NIS handles licensing, paperwork, ordering of supplies, setup and beyond, to get you up and running while business operates as usual. Call NIS today for consultation and we will come to your facility to discuss how to get started. To see more information about the services NIS provides, click here.
