Imaging Accreditation
In diagnostic imaging, accreditation programs have emerged as key initiatives to advance the quality and safety of imaging studies. It is important that consumers receive services from facilities whose equipment, technologists and physicians are in compliance with established accreditation performance standards. Beginning in the third quarter of 2008, UnitedHealthcare will require outpatient imaging sites and providers that bill on a 1500 Health Insurance Claim Form (HICF) or its electronic equivalent, and perform any of the following procedures – CT, MRI, PET, nuclear medicine/cardiology and echocardiography – to have completed and submitted an application to obtain accreditation as a condition for reimbursement.
Nuclear Imaging Services understands that accreditation is important to you and your patients. NIS has a dedicated staff of technologist and administrators that can handle your Accreditation needs, in a timely manner.
The accreditation process is extremely time-consuming and cumbersome. Nuclear Imaging Services has created a streamlined process that will effectively and efficiently get you through the process. We know the accreditation process inside and out, and are up-to-date on its requirements. We have over 100 years of combined Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology experience.
Every aspect of this process will be tailored to your facility and your specific needs. We do not mass produce accreditation materials. We encourage and support your needs and help you every step of the way to ensure that your facility will meet ICANL standards.
We will continue to provide ongoing support even after your accreditation is complete at no additional charge to you.
NIS’ accreditation service significantly streamlines the application process for you and your staff. By providing you with several assistance packages, we make accreditation easily achievable for you, allowing your facility to join the elite group of already accredited labs in the country.
